Jerusalem House, a 23-unit residence for homeless people with AIDS, opened in 1989 in a nearby neighborhood. St. Bartholomew's played a major role in the planning, the organization, the fund raising, and in other aspects of starting this program. A second, 12-unit facility for women and children was opened in 1997.
