St. Bartholomew's has a wonderful library that is made for browsing. It has over 2600 volumes of reading materials and resources.  The library is conveniently located off the narthex and is always open on Sunday mornings. Someone in the church office will gladly let you in at other times. On the left, as you enter, are sections that are specifically faith oriented, Bible study, comparative religion, church history, faith and science, etc. On the right, you will find art, fiction, whodunits, poetry, drama, etc.
To check out books, sign the card in the back and drop the card in the wooden box on the desk. The best thing about this library is that everything in it is a gift from parishioners, not through any fund, but from people giving their own books, videos, etc. New acquisitions and material related to current classes or study groups are displayed on the table, come and see! Parishioner Meg Anderson is our volunteer librarian. Contact her for more information or to make a donation.

The Library was established in the early 1990’s by parish associates of the society of St. John the Evangelist, with Mark Stevens as the initial organizer. The library contains a rich and eclectic collection of books and materials for enjoyment, study and spiritual formation, and is totally reliant on donations and self help! It is open all Sunday morning and at other times you just need to ask a clergy, staff or vestry member to open it up. We are all very glad to do so. We hope you will explore and enjoy it.

News from the Library
Read a book....watch a movie....bake a cake....look up a word. Visit your local St. Bart's Library for resources. Sally Hermann and Marla Gearing have donated two more copies of the "won't stay on the shelf" book Three Cups of Tea, and Katherine Roberts brought in some additional good summer reading material. Tom Hooks has provided the Library with the DVD For the Bible Tells Me So. Thanks to Wayne Godfrey, we have a large stack of Gourmet and Bon Appetit magazines as well as a large stack of hardback cookbooks. Anne Mee donated a much-needed dictionary and a thesaurus. Thanks to everyone who donates books, checks them out, or just comes by to look. Your patronage is appreciated!
