Opportunities for Newcomers

Transferring from another parish? Never set foot in an Episcopal church before? Wherever you’re coming from, we will do our best to make you feel at home.

Throughout the year, St. Bartholomew’s clergy hold classes to help newcomers get acquainted with the church. And several times a year, the Shepherd’s Staff – the Sunday morning greeters – will host a reception to give parishioners and newcomers a chance to get to know one another better. Plus, we have the always-popular "Foyers," small groups of people who meet monthly at a member’s home, or perhaps at the park, in a strictly social setting.

You’ll have plenty of opportunity, even if you haven’t been confirmed or officially put on our membership roll, to become involved in the parish community. You could find yourself helping serve a meal at Nicholas House, joining a spirituality group or getting involved in the St. Bart’s Arts program. Or much more. Look over our Ministries page.
