Vestry News

November Vestry Highlights

The Stewardship Committee thanks everyone who hosted or facilitated cottage meetings during the stewardship campaign. About 100 people participated in the cottage meetings – an excellent turnout! Please remember to complete payments on your 2008 pledges before the end of the year.

Children’s Christian Formation – On Wednesday evenings during Advent, Christen Erskine and Lisa Persons will introduce children (and interested adults) to the Taize service, culminating in a 30-minute Taize service led by the children from 7:40-8:10 p.m. on Dec. 17th.

Pastoral Care Committee hosted a luncheon for “wisdom bearers”, parishioners aged 70 and older, on October 25. The twenty guests had a wonderful time socializing and enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by Kenny Hilson. A “Rite 70” ritual is planned for next spring as a way to celebrate entrance into this later chapter in our lives.

Evangelism Committee – Our second Newcomer Reception for 2008 is scheduled for Sunday, December 7 after church in the Brooks Room.
